Faith in Allah (Tawḥīd)
We affirm our belief in Allah alone as the foundation of our purpose, our actions, and our direction. Every effort at MCC is guided by sincerity and accountability to Allah.
About us
The Islamic Foundation of Canada is an initiative founded under the guidance and vision of Imam Ilyas, who has been serving the community in Saskatchewan since 1998 with a longstanding commitment to education, community development, and social support.
Our mission
Established in 2023, the Foundation adopted the name Markaz Maryam Community Centre to reflect its broader mission of supporting individuals and families in Saskatoon and the surrounding areas. After beginning operations from temporary locations and steadily building community engagement and programs, we reached a significant milestone in August 2025 with the acquisition and transition to a permanent three-acre property on Floral Road in Grasswood, Saskatoon.
The Maryam Community Centre — encompassing approximately 8,000 square feet — functions as a comprehensive community hub, facilitating educational initiatives, youth engagement, family support services, and community programs designed to foster connection, personal growth, and shared values.

We foster a welcoming environment built on mutual respect, understanding, and brotherhood/sisterhood — embracing diversity while strengthening one united community.
We believe in serving others with humility and excellence — supporting families, uplifting youth, and contributing positively to society as responsible members of Canada.
